Story Over Specs: How to Write Meta Ad Scripts That Sell
A fragrance brand's ads improved when the message moved from features and specs to story. Here's how to do the same.

Most ads list what a product has. The ads that sell tell people why it matters. For a fragrance brand, we moved the message from features and specs, to benefits, to story, and ROAS rose over four months.
Choose a story angle
For that brand the angles were heritage and cultural identity: oil versus alcohol, and the history of oud and saffron. Pick an angle your customer already cares about, not the one that is easiest to write.
Write the script in order
- A hook that names the tension or the surprise
- A short story that makes the angle real
- The product as the natural answer
- One clear action
Test one angle at a time
Run each story as its own creative and read the weekly numbers: spend, ROAS, cost per purchase and click-through rate. Keep the angles that work and retire the rest.
